Human Resources Business Partner

This position is based at Dentalcorp's Toronto Support Centre (181 Bay St.) Monday to Thursday, with remote work on Fridays. Reporting to the Senior Director, People, you will play a key role in shaping an HR function that pushes beyond the status quo—where HR isn't just a function but a driving force behind business success, creating brilliant experiences for everyone.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership & Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted partner to leaders, offering insights and solutions that elevate our people strategy and help drive us beyond brilliance.
  • Champion a culture of growth by designing HR programs that enhance engagement, performance, and recognition.
  • Support in the development and implementation of innovative organizational operating models that support business success, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
  • Anticipate organizational challenges and craft creative, people-first solutions that help us grow beyond the status quo.
  • Align HR strategies with business objectives to propel the company forward.
  • Collaborate on initiatives that enhance leadership capabilities and foster a deeper connection among team members, helping us thrive together.

Administrative Oversight & Coordination

  • Ensure seamless execution of HR administration, from payroll support to document management, driving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Respond to employee inquiries with care, professionalism, and responsiveness, delivering brilliant service.
  • Keep organizational charts and HR logistics up to date, supporting operational excellence.
  • Continuously refine HR programs to enhance adoption and the overall employee experience, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead health and safety initiatives at the Support Centre, ensuring compliance and fostering a culture of well-being, accountability, and shared responsibility.

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Elevate the candidate and onboarding experience, ensuring every new hire feels welcomed, inspired, and set up for success, contributing to their journey toward brilliance.
  • Maintain and enhance job descriptions to support a dynamic workforce that can achieve beyond excellence.
  • Partner with the HR Programs Specialist to create and activate a best-in-class new hire onboarding that reflects our values and supports early success.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Act as the go-to HR advisor, fostering a culture of transparency, trust, and collaboration, where every individual feels valued.
  • Guide leaders in performance management, ensuring continuous feedback, growth, and development that drive exceptional results.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts with fairness and empathy, maintaining a positive work environment that supports everyone’s potential.
  • Provide expertise on performance management best practices to develop top talent who will drive the organization forward.
  • Collaborate with the learning team to create training programs that enable employees to unlock their full potential.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into workplace concerns, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements while maintaining confidentiality and fairness.

  • Participate in organizing engaging training programs, leadership development initiatives, and mentorship opportunities that empower individuals to strive beyond excellence.
  • Champion employee engagement strategies that go beyond the status quo, creating an environment where everyone belongs and thrives together.
  • Support with talent and succession management efforts to build a strong leadership pipeline, ensuring we are prepared for the future.

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Optimize HR systems to deliver accurate, insightful data that informs strategic decisions and drives us beyond brilliance.
  • Generate meaningful HR reports that guide leadership in workforce planning and engagement strategies.

Change Management & Communications

  • Partner with leaders to navigate organizational change with clarity and confidence, ensuring we move forward together toward success.
  • Craft compelling HR communications that reinforce our culture and values, ensuring our people understand the “why” behind every change.
  • Maintain a dynamic HR intranet that keeps employees informed and engaged, providing a transparent, accessible platform for all.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR generalist or HR Business Partner roles, with experience in HR policy and programs including performance management, investigations, organizational design, onboarding, and compliance.
  • A blend of big-picture strategy and hands-on, operational expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Standards Act (ESA) and Human Rights legislation to ensure compliance and protect our culture.
  • Proven ability to lead HR projects from concept to execution, pushing the limits of what’s possible.
  • A mindset focused on continuous process improvement, always striving for beyond excellence.
  • A data-driven approach, using HR analytics to shape strategic initiatives that help us achieve beyond brilliance.
  • Proficiency with HR technology, including Human Capital Management (HCM) systems (Workday preferred).
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills that help drive alignment and success.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities that inspire and engage.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and skilled in applying sound judgment.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and a collaborative team player committed to making a meaningful impact.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in everything you do.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR designation (e.g., CHRP) is an asset.
  • Experience in a fast-growing, innovative environment.
  • Proven success in guiding leaders through change and transformation to ensure brilliance in all we do.
