We're shining the spotlight on Hilary F., Regional Manager, Operations, at dentalcorp's Support Centre. Hilary tells us about remaining open-minded in the workplace, the opportunities provided by dentalcorp to continuously learn and grow, and the importance of developing a team of collaborators.
How long have you been a Regional Manager with dentalcorp?
I’ve been with dentalcorp since 2012. Previously, I was working at Clayburn Dental and Fraser Valley Dental Specialists locations in July 2012.
What excites you most about your current role?
I believe that developing a dedicated team of collaborators is important to succeed, which is why I love the Regional Manager role.
What skills are essential to being a successful dentalcorp Regional Manager?
It's essential to be open-minded, supportive, collaborative, and enthusiastic, to learn continually, and to expect the best from yourself and those around you. These are all vital elements to success as a Regional Manager within the dentalcorp network.
How has dentalcorp supported your professional development?
I firmly believe that the professional support dentalcorp provides us as Regional Managers has, from the onset, helped us grow and learn while guiding our clinics to success.
What are you most proud of to date about your career?
I thrive on encouraging and supporting those around me to become the best versions of themselves every single day.
What are some dentalcorp resources, continuing education courses, or services that you feel help enable the smooth operation of the practices in your region?
The breadth of information available to any employee looking to increase their knowledge base in many directions is incredible. The opportunity to learn and grow is rare, and dentalcorp removes almost all barriers to self-improvement.
What's your favourite quote, mantra, or motto, and how does it resonate in your professional career?
I have many, but the one that resonates for me now in my career is from Simon Sinek: “The role of a leader is not to come up with all the great ideas. The role of a leader is to create an environment in which great ideas can happen.”
