We’re shining the spotlight on Sara Sfeir, Translator, Corporate Communications at dentalcorp’s Support Centre. Sara tells us about her career journey as a certified translator, her love for cooking, and the importance of having faith in yourself.
Tell us about your background — how long have you been with dentalcorp, and what were you doing before you joined?
I have been with dentalcorp for two years. Prior to joining the network, I worked in the IT Department of a bank in Lebanon, focusing on IT governance and procedures, including project management and human resources. I’m a certified translator, and I’ve had experiences in various industries, including healthcare, embassies, humanitarian support, and services, such as legal and banking.
What is your role on the team, and what does a typical day look like?
My role as a translator is to ensure that French speakers within and outside our network have access to all dentalcorp communications and materials in French. No two days look alike, but one thing is sure — the Corporate Communications department is always busy.
What motivates you in your role?
Our department is a beehive: the team members are active, cheerful, and give off positive energy. We’re always ready to support one another and all our teams. At dentalcorp, hard work is appreciated, and employees’ well-being and professional development are also valued. Everyone in the network lives by our corporate values: We are one.
What advice do you have for new team members joining dentalcorp’s Support Centre?
I want new team members to know that we were also new when we joined the organization. We are here to support each other. Have faith in yourself, and remember that you can always reach out to your colleagues if you need help.
How do you like to spend your spare time?
Cooking is my passion. I could spend an endless amount of time in the kitchen, trying out new recipes for my family and friends. I also love to do outdoor activities and go on road trips with my family.
